Dogs ate fallen pears.
Content, they sleep on the floor.
Passage air smells foul.
A waffle on plate
Maple syrup and butter
Breaks my fast nicely.
The cake, it was nice,
blueberry, icing, some spice
no crumbs left on plate.
The river flows fast.
Grasping for water we reach,
Never in our hands.
To those who stand on
the sidelines, it looks easy
Two years, two books . . . done.
So glad to see rain.
The dry grass soaks it up fast.
Not nearly enough.
I start with cold tea
on this fantastic morning
revisions await.
A little voice speaks
Beside my head. She says to
Cuddle for more time.
Sleepless the author
Stays awake plotting nothing
Marketing again.
He is sleeping now.
Though the cat purrs and dogs howl,
Content by my side.
Slow to gain flow
Patience is in not posting. . .
Threads addiction rules.
Looking at my list
Of what is to be done now
The week begins fresh.
Silence of morning
Disrupted by a puppy's
Thunderous chew toy.
The ground is soaked
The creatures and plants embrace
A respite from heat.
Churn, churn, churn, she says...
The list of tasks is so steep.
Nonsense. Go to sleep.
Awake but asleep
We dream our reality
Silent observers.
A day to start new—
shake off the old frequency
from last year's efforts.
Slow down. Eyes close tight.
Tell all fears to go away.
Welcome peace and sleep.
Tired eyes. Drop phone.
Sleepy time safely at home.
Grateful for blessings.
Loud smash. Broken dish.
Kitchen light on, see a mess.
A ghost? No. A cat.
I wasted much time.
Not good. Tomorrow more time,
Spent with intention.
