Events & Appearances

Appearing with W.C.Y.R in the Community Zone at the Aurora Multicultural Festival. The event was held between 8 AM and Noon.

Lessons today: literacy outreach is needed. Advice to parents on how to get their kids reading... Advice to adults who are trying to get back into reading... The Writers Community of York Region helped today at the Aurora Multicultural Festival at Aurora Town Park. I even sold a few books.

This is my third time returning to Indigo Newmarket, a great place for fantasy readers. Their management team and floor staff are very supportive of local authors. The event will be held between 10 AM and 3 PM.

One of my favourite places to be. Sold many books.

Representing the Writers' Community of York Region at Fan Expo Toronto 2026! We hosted small events in the Book Nook, an oasis from the heavy crowds.

This is my first time at Hillcrest as an Author. The event will be held between 10 AM and 3 PM.

Watched so many parents and children buying squish cubes while being mistaken for an Indigo employee. Sold a few books and had some interesting conversations. Witnessed two separate sets of kids riding around the store on scooters and bikes and wondered—what is this world coming to?

Hosted by the Writers' Community of York Region.

Spent the day with many local authors on the Riverwalk Commons in Newmarket near the Lion's Hall community centre next to the Farmer's market. Sold enough books to cover my entry fee. The best part of the event was meeting potential readers who were intrigued by my books and bought the first, and often both, books of the Pawn of Samsara duology.

Community festival celebration in Aurora.

I didn't do too well this time around, with book sales barely covering the entry fees. I was located next to Daowen Publishing, and Doug is an amazing salesman to watch. I spent most of the day talking and learning from the more experienced authors from the WCYR. I felt disheartened that there was no interest in my latest book, The Eyes of Ess-Vaha. Perhaps this is not the ideal audience for this book. Whatever the case, it struck me that the Aurora Street Festival does not pull too many avid readers.

A Lion's Head nominated for the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association's YA Fantasy Aurora Prix.

Enough people support my work to have nominated A Lion's Head as a contender for the 2025 Aurora Prix for YA Fantasy. I'm delighted to be nominated and hope that the best YA novel wins!

Kidlit title: The Eyes of Ess-Vaha: The Pink Eye Yaksha.

This book was produced in collaboration with Chris Ho (@algebutter). It offers a fantastical slice-of-life for a kid, Ashan, living in the Greater-Toronto-Area and being beset by an ancient mythical demon (or faerie) that gifts its victims conjunctivitis. A fast-paced short story that is an easy read for children aged 8+. Chris' illustrations bring it to life.

Local author event hosted at the Brew It Coffee Bar in Newmarket.

Yesterday's bookselling event with two heavy-hitting authors, Deborah Armstrong and Sheila Horne! We had a good conversation while being visited by the patrons of the Brew It Coffee Bar in Newmarket, Ontario! Thank you to our hosts! Made good sales and sold many books despite the cold and decrepit day!

What a day! I did well. I sold a lot of books and had some good conversations with customers and staff. I hope I can do another bookselling event in the future!

I felt proud releasing this work. I spent my Winter break recording the audiobook for both A Lion's Pride and it's prequel A Lion's Head.
