BEST FRIENDS was inspired by an event where my upbeat daughter, Enora, hesitated to attend school. She was sad. In a classic playground move, a friend told her she was not her BFF.
She was having trouble accepting rejection. I had a conversation with my daughter that ended with her changing focus from one friend to another.
We're all hooked by the negative. Kids (just like adults) feel rejection and cling to that feeling. The problem is that focusing on the rejection leads to missed opportunities staring you in the face.
