007 | The Hat Seller
This is a reflection of today's AI-driven world. At the end of the day, the original hat seller reigns supreme while all the others holding hats are just copies and clones. Moral of the story: keep a cool head.

007 | The Hat Seller
What do you do when half a dozen monkeys steal all of the hats you sell? Here is the story of the hat seller. This is a Sri Lankan story often told to young children at bedtime. The moral of the story is to keep your cool and observe the situation before taking the time to outsmart your adversary.

Rethinking the format for the podcast. This week is an attempt at live storytelling. This tale is from Sri Lankan folklore and is a story I have heard hundreds of times to the point of being able to retell it without a script.
I attended a workshop by Kim Sparks on Narrative Podcasts. While there, I learned about the use of sound in creating an audio experience. I haven't yet figured out where or how to find soundtracks for monkeys, broken branches, or someone yelling in anger. Nor do I have the expertise to mix these in but I can leave this as a potential goal for future endeavours.
The problem is, this is not my primary gig. Time spent on marketing endeavours is less time spent writing. That said, creating these little audio and video clips is a use of creative function. This in turn, contributes to my greater ability to visual and work on my main storytelling. So, I'll keep at it for the time being.
I've uploaded a version of this clip on my Ahasae Tharu YouTube channel for children.
